When temperatures drop below freezing, the New York City Department of Homeless Services calls a Code Blue. Should you see anyone at risk, especially a homeless individual, please call 311. The BronxWorks Homeless Outreach Team will be dispatched to offer assistance.

BronxWorks food pantries operate on a client-choice model, allowing individuals to select the items they prefer. Distribution is based on family size to ensure appropriate support. We are appointment-based, and all clients must call the hotline (646.596.1316) on the designated call day to schedule an appointment. Appointments are issued on a first-call, first-served basis. Please note that some sites have limited availability, so we strongly recommend calling early, as appointments fill up quickly. Click here for a full list of BronxWorks pantry sites.

Farm Stands

BronxWorks is dedicated to making fresh, affordable produce to our Bronx neighbors. Farm Stands provide local and regional produce to the community and offer health incentive coupons to customers. We operate two seasonal farm stands from July – November, and also offer a produce market during the winter and spring.

Farm Stands

From July to November, both the Community Farm Stand at the BronxWorks Carolyn McLaughlin Community Center and the Mott Haven Farm Stand at Padre Plaza Garden, E 139th St., provide local and regional produce to the community and offer health incentive coupons to customers who engage in nutrition education workshops. The Farm Stands also employ Bronx youth as part of the Youth Food Justice Program.

The Farm Stands accept cash, Health Bucks, Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program checks, and EBT/SNAP Benefits.

BronxWorks Winter/Spring Produce Market

BronxWorks also offers a Produce Market at other locations in the Bronx year round, as well as a market at 1130 Grand Concourse during the winter and spring months. The market offers the same local, fresh produce offered at the farm stands with an extra incentive for folks using SNAP benefits.
