The Emergency Needs for the Homeless Program helps families with children under the age of 18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and in need of emergency services. The program provides assistance with rent arrears, eviction notices, and utility termination.
In order to qualify, families must:
- Reside in The Bronx
- Be the leaseholder
- Fall within 200% of the poverty guidelines
- Have U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency
Families eligible for crisis intervention services may be faced with calamities but are not in court. Families eligible for eviction prevention services are at risk of eviction and have accrued rent arrears.
