When temperatures drop below freezing, the New York City Department of Homeless Services calls a Code Blue. Should you see anyone at risk, especially a homeless individual, please call 311. The BronxWorks Homeless Outreach Team will be dispatched to offer assistance.

BronxWorks food pantries operate on a client-choice model, allowing individuals to select the items they prefer. Distribution is based on family size to ensure appropriate support. We are appointment-based, and all clients must call the hotline (646.596.1316) on the designated call day to schedule an appointment. Appointments are issued on a first-call, first-served basis. Please note that some sites have limited availability, so we strongly recommend calling early, as appointments fill up quickly. Click here for a full list of BronxWorks pantry sites.

Supportive Housing

BronxWorks offers supportive housing and care management at an array of sites across the Bronx. Our programs include both congregate and scattered-side supportive housing. Referrals for supportive housing programs are made directly through New York City and State agencies for qualifying individuals and households. BronxWorks follows a Housing First model, believing that providing homeless individuals with access to stable housing is an essential first step to resolving many life issues.

All Supportive Housing programs require a referrals from city agencies or other parties.

Bronx Point

Bronx Point is a 542-unit mixed-use development that provides both affordable and supportive housing to the community. In partnership with the developers, L+M Development Partners and Type A Projects, BronxWorks provides supportive housing services to 82 formerly homeless households consisting of both individuals and families with children.

Housing referrals come directly from city agencies.

Building amenities/services include:

  • Childcare center
  • Fitness room
  • Community room
  • Children’s playroom
  • 24-hour security/attended lobby
  • On-site laundry
  • Recreational activities

Bronx Point is adjacent to a waterfront public park and is the future home of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum.

The Brook

BronxWorks provides supportive social services at The Brook, a six-story residence developed by Breaking Ground. The 190-unit building provides permanent supportive housing to low-income workers, people with HIV/AIDS, and chronically homeless individuals (including individuals with mental illness).

Housing referrals come directly from city agencies and Breaking Ground.

Services offered to residents include, but are not limited to:

  • On-site access to Behavioral Health services, such as medical and psychiatric services
  • Medication monitoring assistance
  • Representative payee services
  • Supportive case management

Building amenities include:

  • 2,400-square-foot community event space available for use by the neighborhood residents and organizations
  • 24-hour security/attended lobby
  • Computer lab
  • Fitness room
  • Green roof
  • Large outdoor garden at the rear of the building
  • On-site laundry
  • Recreational activities

Cooper Gardens

BronxWorks provides supportive social services at Cooper Gardens, a multi-building residence developed by L+M Development Partners. The 313 unit mixed-use development provides both affordable and supportive housing to the community. BronxWorks provides supportive housing services to 95 formerly homeless households consisting of both individuals and families with children.

Housing referrals come directly from New York City agencies.

Building amenities include:

  • St. Barnabas Hospital System Wellness Center (under construction)
  • 24-hour security/attended lobby
  • On-site laundry
  • Recreational activities

Cooper Gardens also offers case management and financial, educational, and vocational resources.

Park Haven

BronxWorks provides supportive social services at Park Haven, a multi-building residence developed by The Community Builders. The mixed-use development offers 50 total housing units for formerly homeless people: 40 for individuals and 10 for families. Funding for Park Haven is provided by ESSHI.

Housing referrals come directly from New York City agencies.

  • Recreational activities

Park Haven also offers case management and financial, educational, and vocational resources.

HUD Scattered-Site Supportive Housing

BronxWorks provides supportive housing and social service supports to formerly chronically homeless individuals through funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Case Managers conduct weekly home visits with program participants, providing long-term support services, care, and benefit coordination to facilitate an overall healthy lifestyle.

Housing referrals come directly from New York City’s Human Resources Administration (HRA) Coordinated Assessment and Placement System (CAPS).
