In 2020, the COVID-19 Outbreak canceled many events, including the annual BronxWorks Staff Meeting, where multiple staff members are awarded for their years of service. In June of 2020, BronxWorks honored staff celebrating 25 and 20 years of service to the organization.

Maria Rivera, Department Director of Senior Services has worked at BronxWorks for over 20 years. Her accomplishments have been recognized by the New York State Assembly, the NYC Public Advocate, and various City Council Members. Kimberly Haynes, Program Coordinator, Children and Youth Department also celebrates 20 years with BronxWorks. “What has kept me at BronxWorks so many years is BronxWorks continual support of the families in this community. Over the years I have seen this community change ethnically and culturally. BronxWorks has never waived in their mission to feed, shelter, teach, and support.” Kimberly says of her tenure at BronxWorks. For fun, Kimberly enjoys reading autobiographies and double dutch jump rope.
