HomeBase is the BronxWorks homelessness and shelter prevention program for residents in Bronx Service Areas 1 (zip codes 10451, 10452, 10454, 10455) and 5 (zip code 10456). It is designed to help individuals and families avoid the trauma of homelessness by helping overcome the immediate problems and obstacles that could result in the loss of housing.  Program services are crafted to meet the unique needs of each individual or family and to help meet the demands of maintaining a household.

When you come to the HomeBase office, you will be assigned a case manager who will coordinate all services.  Some of these services will be provided directly through HomeBase and others will be provided by our community partners. Services that are available to qualified households include:

  • Family mediation
  • Landlord mediation
  • Household budgeting skills
  • Legal services
  • Short-term financial assistance
  • Mental health and substance abuse services
  • Household repairs
  • Entitlements
  • Child Care
  • Education
  • Employment

If you do not live in zip codes 10451, 10452, 10454, 10455 or 10456, you may still be helped by our other eviction prevention programs.
