When temperatures drop below freezing, the New York City Department of Homeless Services calls a Code Blue. Should you see anyone at risk, especially a homeless individual, please call 311. The BronxWorks Homeless Outreach Team will be dispatched to offer assistance.

BronxWorks food pantries operate on a client-choice model, allowing individuals to select the items they prefer. Distribution is based on family size to ensure appropriate support. We are appointment-based, and all clients must call the hotline (646.596.1316) on the designated call day to schedule an appointment. Appointments are issued on a first-call, first-served basis. Please note that some sites have limited availability, so we strongly recommend calling early, as appointments fill up quickly. Click here for a full list of BronxWorks pantry sites.

Walk-in Offices

BronxWorks offices throughout the borough offer walk-in and telephone services to help Bronx residents resolve problems. Our offices are staffed by skilled, compassionate professionals who specialize in housing, government benefits, consumer rights, immigration, senior services, and other matters. All walk-in personnel speaks both English and Spanish.

Walk-In Offices

Members of the community can drop by any of the offices listed below to speak to a BronxWorks staff member. All offices are open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Offices For Residents Only

We also maintain offices at a number of NYCHA complexes across the Bronx specifically for building residents. These offices provide many of the same services our Walk-In Offices provide, including, but not limited to:

  • Connections to public benefits
  • SCRIE or DRIE Benefits application completion or renewals
  • Rental arrears assistance
  • Tax Prep referrals
  • Tax Credits
  • Questions about health insurance eligibility
  • PACT-RAD

Note that all services may not be present at all locations.

We base our locations and offices inside local neighborhoods around the borough so that we can connect with the everyday lives of our neighbors and offer services close to home.”
