When temperatures drop below freezing, the New York City Department of Homeless Services issues a Code Blue. Should you see anyone at risk, especially a homeless individual, please call 311. The BronxWorks Homeless Outreach Team will be dispatched to offer assistance.
Notice
Due to the extreme weather conditions, most BronxWorks offices will operate remotely, including all Children and Youth programs, on Monday, January 26. Select programming at 630 Jackson Ave and 1130 Grand Concourse will open at 11am.
All 24-hour facilities including outreach services will be open and operate as usual.
Please be safe and observe all local, city, and state guidance.
BronxWorks is proud to once again participate as a charity partner in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour, America’s largest cycling event. On Sunday, May 3, 2026, tens of thousands of people will ride through over 40 miles of car-free streets in all five boroughs in New York City.
Riding with BronxWorks at the TD Five Boro Bike Tour provides some excellent perks, including:
Guaranteed placement in the first start wave on Race Day
Charity Rider Breakfast before the race at Start Village
Lunch in the Charity enclosure at the Finish Festival
Interested in joining #TeamBronxWorks at the Bike Tour? When you join #TeamBronxWorks, you agree to raise $750 for BronxWorks, with $250 raised by Friday, March 27, 2026.
Riders for #TeamBronxWorks fundraise for children’s programs at our shelters for homeless families. The stress of homelessness affects children in a profound way, impacting their physical and mental health, school performance, and overall development. The recreational and educational activities in our programs expand their world beyond the daily challenges of being homeless and can counteract some of the negative impacts
If you would like to fundraise for BronxWorks, click “Become a Fundraiser” at the main fundraising page here. Someone will reach out to you in two to three business days to confirm your participation.
