On Tuesday November 17th, BronxWorks hosted a special pre-Thanksgiving dinner for the BronxWorks Families! Special thanks to The Garden of Dreams Foundation, the New York Rangers, NYC Department of Homeless Services, and our staff who worked tirelessly to make this happen. 273 BronxWorks Families were treated to an early Thanksgiving dinner at the Carolyn McLaughlin Community Center, served by The New York Ranger players, Ryan McDonagh, Dominic Moore and Emerson Etem. The players happily played games, took photos and signed autographs.

The dining room was decked out with festive decorations including balloon scarecrows sporting Rangers jerseys. Following a delicious holiday meal, the celebration continued as families moved into a gym full of activities including face painting, a candy bar, gingerbread man ornament decorating, holiday themed photo booth, and corn hole and street hockey games. The atmosphere was electric with music playing and sounds of laughter.

Before heading out, all attendees were given a Rangers gift bag, a Rangers hooded sweatshirt and a winter hat along with a brand new winter coat donated by Noize.

Dominic Moore summed up what this event means to the players in attendance, “We all are very grateful for the opportunities we’ve had. To be able to come out and give back in a very small way, it’s rewarding for us.”
