Requirements: The position requires a minimum of three years of college with a major in the social sciences, urban affairs, public policy, social work, or a related field. Work experience or training in survey design, administration, and analysis is a must. Candidates for the position must have excellent writing skills and be able to speak clearly and concisely. They must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities, as well as be proficient in computer applications, especially word processing.
Helpful Attributes: Familiarity with social issues facing low-income Bronx communities and area residents is helpful. Knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS or SPSS), spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), or database tools (e.g., Microsoft Access) is helpful. Knowledge of or fluency in Spanish is helpful, but not required. Knowledge of early learning programs, parent education, and early childhood development is helpful.
Education: At least 96 credits or the completion of three years of college is required.
